Created an Interior Design Department, and oversaw interior design staff and fulfilled high-level creative duties, such as marketing strategies, created policies and procedures, client presentations, client meetings, provided direction to staff, and monitored the progress of projects and plans. Set complete design standards for each client.
Curated decisions on FF&E, architectural finishes, room layouts, and design concepts. Other duties included leading the conceptual phase of a project and overseeing the final results through mentorship and coaching, as well as site visits to full completion punch-out.
A boutique design firm specializing in Healthcare Design & Multi-Family Design, to create refreshed environments, that appeal to both ownership, and its tenants. Due to COVID-19, FORM design closed in 2020.
Created and implemented Design Department policies and procedures and compiled a standardized documents library that is critical to the success of the department, including interior and exterior material reference sheets and documents related to pluming, lighting and hardware. Information includes specifications, manufacturer contact information and a code system designed to coordinate with floor plan tags to ensure uniformity when purchasing and installing items in properties. Created a set of design standards for interiors of all properties, encompassing both renovations and new builds.
Established and managed budgets for all projects, closely monitoring spending throughout each project. Worked hand-in-hand with Architects, Construction Project Managers, Construction Managers and Subcontractors to build out properties efficiently. Developed plans of architectural drawings, floor coverings, electrical locations, FF&E and reflected ceiling plans. Document coordination between architects, landscaping, lighting, MEP, and civil including RFI’s & Submittals. Worked closely with the Operational staff both in the office and in the field, to create safe and effective environments for the residents using evidence based design.
Aided in site planning/zoning while working with the head of Development. Utilized AutoCAD to design and develop Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Living Properties and Assisted Living Communities. Designs created included common living areas, private living quarters, office spaces, restrooms, public spaces, specific use rooms, utility kitchens, dining rooms, spa, libraries, and medical spaces. Managed Design staff by staying actively involved in more than fourteen full-scale installations in the Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia and Illinois areas.
Privately designed the interior residences of the Founder and CEO/Co-Owner of the LaSalle Group. Design work and properties have been featured in PR pieces in industry publications highlighting the importance of design in Alzheimer’s and Dementia care in aiding resident safety and security. Attended continuing education events and seminars at Argentum and HD Expo.
Active involvement with the (Blondes Versus Brunettes) BVB Dallas charity event, an Alzheimer’s Foundation. Evolvement was key in developing a partnership between the company and BVB Dallas, helping to raise funds and surpassing the goal of $84,000 in donations.
Utilized AutoCAD to design and develop 5 to 7 Star hotel spaces including lobbies, spas, restaurants, lounges, restrooms, nightclubs/bars, gyms, executive lounges, meeting/reception rooms, Hammam spas, guest rooms, executive suites, Presidential suites, VIP suites and private personal residencies for Persian royalty. Developed architectural drawings, floor coverings, electrical locations, FF&E and reflected ceiling plans. Complete elevations of all areas in a given project including section cuts highlighting structural elements and taking into consideration the design intent and integrity of the project. Detail drawings of all flooring, wall designs, doors, windows and ceilings.
Create plumbing, hardware and equipment schedules for all projects. Enhanced hand rendered plans and elevations in Photoshop. Design custom FF&E furniture, both built in and millwork pieces. Extensive FF&E knowledge through working hand in hand with the department, creating boards show- casing furniture, fabrics, accessories, color palettes, inspirational designs and lighting. Conduct initial client meetings and maintain a relationship with client and team from conception to completion of the project. Coordinate with clients in order to comply and design to their specific standards while maintaining ADA and local code requirements.
Designed high-end 5 Star hotels, restaurants, casinos and spas worldwide. Duties included creating floor plans, sections, elevations, millwork and details for each project. Set vendor meetings/relations and lunch-and-learns. List of repeat clients were Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt and Marriott International.
